by SteveU MHSA Montana State Meet – Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 Results: Class AA | Class A | Class B | Class C HIGHLIGHTS BOYS Indiv.: After some mid- to late-season defeats during a long rivalry, Flathead sr Zach Perrin turned the tables on Missoula Hellgate sr Adam Peterman, defending his Class AA title in 15:08.7 for 3M. Peterman was 2nd in 15:17.6 and Glacier sr Troy Fraley 3rd in 15:25.0. In Class A, Dawson Co. sr Layne Lantis topped Laurel soph Tyler Morgan, 16:01.6 to 16:02.2. Rocky Boy sr Kyle Olson won Class B with 16:12.3 and Culbertson jr Chance Hyatt took Class C in 16:59.2. BOYS Teams: Bozeman packed five into the top 16 scorers to overcome Hellgate’s fast start (3 in top 10) and won with 56 to Hellgate’s 97. Billings West was third with 125. Whitefish started and finished best in Class A to beat Hamilton, 96-108. In Class B, it was Red Lodge 115 over Manhattan 128, with the rest way back, and in Class C it was Culbertson rolling with 18 (score 3). GIRLS Indiv.: Bigfork soph and 2011 Foot Locker Finalist Makena Morley repeated in Class B with 18:13.1 for 3 Miles, but it was Hellgate sr Paige Gilchrist who had the best time of the meet, winning AA in 17:47.0. Corvallis sr Sadi Henderson rolled to the Class A title with 18:37.6 and Class C saw Twin Bridges soph Jessica George triumphant in 19:47.1. GIRLS Teams: NW#1 Bozeman made it a sweep in Class AA, scoring 55 to Billings West’s 77. Billings Senior (95), Hellgate (105), and Billings Skyview (110) followed closely. Corvallis took Class A with 58 to Fergus’s 82. In Class B it was Glasgow rolling with 82 and Twin Bridges edged Belt in Class B, 16-20 (score 3).
